Caucasian Research Centre for Crime Prevention and Comparative Criminology was established at Grigol Robakidze University together with the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg.
The goal of the Centre is to support scientific activities, to provide young scientists with the advances researches and theoretical materials of the world for the purpose of crime prevention and struggling against it.
Concerning this event, on May 17, 2012 the Round Table was held in the Conference Hall of the University. The Director of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg, Professor Hans-Jörg Albrecht, the Project Coordinator of the Post-Soviet Countries of the same Institute, Doctor of Juridical Sciences Ms Eliko Tsiklauri-Lammich, the Chairperson of the Association of Judges and Prosecutors of Germany, Freiburg Public Prosecutor Christoph Frank and the member of the Curatorium of Max Planck Society, Professor Peter Vilkitsky participated in the Round Table together with Georgian scientists.
By the decision of the Academic Council of Grigol Robakidze University, the Director of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg - Hans-Jörg Albrecht was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa. The Rector of the University, Professor Mamuka Tvakhelidze presented the diploma and the gown to Professor Hans-Jörg Albrecht.
