Admission procedure to PhD programmes

  1. Admission to PhD programmes is announced on the basis of the Rector’s individual administrative-legal act. Information about this fact is spread by web page and other types of media in autumn and summer.
  2. The required documents for the registration:
    • Personally signed CV
    • Master’s diploma or equivalent certified by apostil together with the supplement (copy)
    • Two reference letters given by professors (according to the set form)
    • Reference letter from the job (if available) or the name, last name and contact information of two individuals who can provide the information about an applicant
    • The copy of the document of military registration (for boys)
    • 2 photos (3X4) together with CD
  3. After submitting the documents, you’ll be admitted to exams. The schedule will be announced in advance.
  4. The exam procedure includes the following components:
  5.     a) Defence of a paper;

        b) Exam in one of the European languages; an applicant’s language proficiency should satisfy at   least B2 level;

        c)  By the decision of the programme committee the exam can be held in the special dicipline.

  6. Individuals who present the certificate with the result of at least B2 level will be exempt from the exam in foreign language.
  7. The pass mark is 51 %.
  8. The contest paper should be presented no later than 6 days before the exam. The paper will be forwarded to one of the professors for assessment whose answer will be available at least 2 days earlier before the exam.
  9. An applicant can still be admitted to the contest if his/her contest paper gets negative evaluation as presenting a paper is the process of defending one’s own work.
  10. The agreement is signed between the University and an applicant who passes the contest and Rector’s individual administrative-legal act is issued concerning the admission of the specific individual.
