The Centre of Academic Standards and Quality Management
History
The Academic Quality Assurance Centre was established at Grigol Robakidze University first time in Georgia in September of 2001. It is worth mentioning that the law about the higher education received in 2005 requires the establishment of such services at higher educational institutions. The mentioned Centre was established within the scope of the TEMPUS TACIS Project which was accomplished at our University in partnership with the Nottingham Trent University (UK) and Lund University (Sweden).
The Centre did its best in implementing the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and the European system of learning/teaching and assessment. For this the University expresses its gratitude to its partner universities and all participants: Mr. Colin Love, Ms Jacky Stephens, Mr. Jan Hellberg and especially to Mr. Trevor Cartledge who was the immediate participant of the process of formation of academic programmes and the assessment system.
In 2005 the name of the Centre was changed and now it is called - The Centre of Academic Standards and Quality Management.
