Professor Nino Kemertelidze is a linguist, specialist of Anglistics. She works at Grigol Robakidze University from the very day of its establishment at first as an Assistant Professor, then as a Professor and the Head of the Department of International Relations. Since 1996, she is the Vice-Rector of the University. The sphere of her activities is international relations and scientific research. Success of Grigol Robakidze University, interesting international education and research programmes are connected to the Professor’s activities. She plays the particular attention to the accomplishment of students’ and lecturers’ joint research projects. She involves students into distance learning programmes of well-known foreign universities. That is why her office is always full of students.
Nino Kemertelidze was born in Tbilisi in 1958. In 1980 she graduated the Faculty of West European Languages and Literature of Tbilisi State University with a major in Anglistics. The same year she started to work in the Institute of Linguistics. In 1982 she was admitted to the Departments of English Language of M. Lomonosov Moscow State University as a competitor for a degree. In 1987 she defended the thesis for a candidate’s degree and in 1995 defended the thesis for a Doctor’s Degree. She is the author of over 30 scientific works, among them two monographs. She has family.
